I know, I know. It’s been a while, and my signature percentage progress hasn’t gone anywhere. It’ll take a ~5 percent jump soon enough.

I will finish it by the end of this week. Now, whether or not this gives me the time to pack in the final large secret I want to, I don’t know. However, I can guarantee that I will pack that secret in by the end of July if it isn’t in there already.

Keep your fingers crossed and ready, for the third boss is the hardest yet!

As of last week Friday, (May 25th), I completed finals. On a personal note, I have achieved B’s in all my honors classes, A’s in all my regulars, and I happened to get an 84 on the Principles of Engineering final, which gives me college credit. Not bad in my freshman year.

But back to the point. Now it is summer, and I have a great deal more time to spend on my uncompleted calculator projects. One, I have finished already, and will aid in the creation of another.

Said project is Artistic, the most comprehensive and complete graphics program. Even though it is powered by xLIB, it can still be used for a multitude of Pure-Basic graphics.

Quoted directly from the readme:

Artistic is a fully packed, xLIB-powered on-calc graphics program. From tilemapping, to
sprite editing, to editing pictures directly, Artistic harnesses the full power of xLIB
into a simple interface that any person could use. Features include:
► Pixel-sprite editor for 8*8 sprites, with functions such as transpose, invert,
horizontal and vertical flipping
► Sprite server, for downloading and uploading sprites to and from pictures. Advanced
technoglogy allows the user to duplicate sprites that are in pics already
► Tilemapping technology grants the user the ability to create tilemaps, and directly
paste tiles into the matrix.
► New development also allows the user to be able to change the base picture.
► Direct picture editing allows the user to use all of the xLIB shapes, a pixel plotter,
normal and inverted text, and a sprite replicator.

Not a shabby graphics program, if I may say so. You may get it here, or watch this:
Artistic ScreenshotAnd now that that project is out of my way, I can continue to work on Metroid Pi. I have the third boss all planned out with the help of everyone over at UTI, but coding it without major lag is another thing.

I have completely rewritten the second boss, and it is a lot better than the last one.

As for the third one, I have no idea. It has to be a pi symbol though. Suggestions?

And here are some screenies–Yeah, I know, I can’t beat Kraid with a computer keyboard.

EDIT: Get it here.  If you doubt it’s quality keep reading.

And, I’ve revived Metroid Pi. I got the second boss done, but I have yet to come up with a third boss. It’ll probably be a bouncing Pi symbol that you have to shoot or something, and the lava in the floor rises…I dunno. We’ll see.

The engine is done with about as little as lag as you can get! It runs satisfactorily fast, too. Check this:

Debugging and/or comments are greatly appreciated. Download the beta here.

All that’s left is making my own levels and maybe making use of all that open space in the sprite pic…

Yeah.  Uh huh.  Another Pegz game.  But this time powered by xLIB (hence, xPegz).  xPegz is not the official name, but just so you can easily differentiate between this and my earlier Pegs clone.

This one is powered by xLIB, empowered by CELTIC2, and utilizes VARSTAT.  xLIB…well duh.  CELTIC2 to store to a user defined list, and VARSTAT to prevent ERR:UNDEFINED, ERR:ARCHIVED, and ERR:INVALID DIM.

I just finished the level editor, I just have to write the engine along with some more graphics and we’re all set!  I’ve got scrolling backgrounds for menus, an extremely optimized custom input routine, and all the nice little gimmicks that make a good game an excellent game.

Due to it’s size and incredible amount of subroutines, this will probably end up as an Application.  I haven’t even started the engine, and it’s up to over 10,000 bytes.  Yeesh!  I’ll have to keep the engine small….

Unfortunately, Metroid Pi bit the dust, because I can’t think of a second boss.

But on a side note, I’m willing to make one of my biggest xLIB games ever.  Preferably something like nitacku’s bowling.  Any ideas?

Unfortunately, PindurTI isn’t being very cooperative right now, so I can’t get a screenshot.  Don’t worry though, it is excellent, runs fast, some cool ASCII-type (It’s not real ASCII) graphics, and has 3 power ups.  I have the first boss done, but I need ideas for the other 2.  Any ideas?

I have had my brain depleted of good game ideas. I have a few, but none are worth (at least, in my opinion) to work for.

But anyways, here some are:

–>Deflecxion
–>A Worms-type game
–>Orbox (just google it)

You guys have any ideas?

Ha ha! Pegz is finished and is the survivor of an unfortunate RAM Clear. It comes packed with 8 of my own levels, and the 15 Flash levels as well. Level Editor is perfect…not much more to say! Here’s a screen to get you hyped:
